1 User unable to be added to MS Teams Shifts

Howdy?

We have 1 x user who we cannot seem to add on MS Teams shifts. The user is located under the main channel however when trying to add the user on the shifts it seems it cannot be added.

Any particular reason as to what that could be?

    If after waiting and following the steps to refresh permissions via SharePoint, you still cannot add members from your organization to Shifts, even though the user is already part of the main channel, I recommend submitting a service request. You can do this by creating a support ticket in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Please go to Support > Help & Support and clearly describe the issue in your request.

The support team has higher-level access, more tools, and the correct escalation channels to investigate and resolve this type of issue efficiently.     Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum! 

    When you add a new member to a Teams channel, it can sometimes take a little while for their profile to fully sync with the Shifts app. In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours. 

    If you’ve already waited and the user still can’t be added to Shifts, please try the following steps to check and refresh permissions via SharePoint: 

    • Navigate to the SharePoint site connected to your Team. 
    • Go to Gear icon → Site Permissions

    • Remove the user from the SharePoint site.

    • Re-add them as either a Member or Owner.

    • Wait approximately 15 minutes to 1 hour for the changes to propagate. 
    • Try adding them to Shifts again. 

    Microsoft Teams is backed by a SharePoint site, and permissions are managed through Microsoft 365 Groups. Occasionally, synchronization between the Microsoft 365 Group and the underlying SharePoint site can cause access issues. 

    Note: You’ll need to be a Team Owner or have the appropriate SharePoint permissions to perform these steps. 

    Additionally, Microsoft Teams Shifts does not support guest users. If the user you’re trying to add is marked as a Guest (external user) in your organization, they cannot be added to Shifts schedules.
