I have a work laptop running on Windows 10. We have been asked to upgrade to Windows 11 via the Software Centre but this is not an option on my laptop. How do I upgrade?

It's a common one, and the issue typically lies not with the Software Centre itself, but with your device's eligibility for the Windows 11 upgrade.

I recommend you first run the PC Health Check app. Your IT department may have already deployed this tool. If not, you can download it directly from Microsoft's website. This tool will quickly scan your device and provide a detailed report on which requirements, if any, are not being met.

Once you have that information, the best course of action is to contact your organization's IT helpdesk directly. They manage the upgrade process and the list of approved devices in the Software Centre. They can confirm the reason for your device's status and inform you if a hardware refresh is planned for your role, or if there are alternative steps they can take on their end.

I hope this points you in the right direction for a resolution. If this answer was helpful, please feel free to mark it as "Accepted" 🙂
