Azure VM backup failure

Hello Team,

Azure VM backup got failed with this message. It was working before.

As checked few days ago VM agent shows running, tried reboot VM and manually start backup still same error.

According below suggestion, uninstalled VM extensions but problem still there. PLS help to fix problem

1)Check VM Agent Logs

Inside the VM, navigate to:

C:\WindowsAzure\Logs\WaAppAgent.log

Look for errors or timeouts during backup attempts. These logs can reveal if the agent is failing to communicate with Azure Backup services.

2)Verify Network Connectivity

Ensure the VM can reach Azure Backup endpoints:

a) Try a simple curl or Test-NetConnection to URLs like *.backup.windowsazure.com and *.blob.core.windows.net.

b) If you're using NSGs or firewalls, double-check that outbound traffic to Azure services is allowed.

3)Check for Conflicting Extensions

a) Sometimes other extensions (like antivirus or monitoring tools) interfere with snapshot operations.

Run and review what's installed.

Get-AzVMExtension -ResourceGroupName <yourRG> -VMName <yourVM>

4)Update VM Agent (Even if It’s Running)

A running agent doesn’t guarantee it’s the latest version.

Download the latest agent from Microsoft’s official page and reinstall it manually.
