I am looking for speakers/audio devices that will provide speaker attribution for hybrid Teams meetings. Currently I can only find three options, and two of them are discontinued (Sennheiser TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker, and YeaLink MS Speech)

For #1, I am using a school/business account (@iu.edu, but I am staff).

For #2, The spaces we want to utilize this are not Teams Rooms. It is more of a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) setup. The way we do it is to use the room computer to log into a group Teams account (which is where the meeting originated from), and start the meeting that way. Then, I have the speaker set up in the room connected by USB or HDMI (I can't remember right now) to the room computer. This way it records both the in-person speakers, and the virtual attendees as well (if any).

When I check the link you provided, it only offers the three I listed in my original question. I am looking for alternatives, as the only one still available is more cost prohibitive for us. The MSpeech I can get on Amazon for $110, and I bought the Sennheiser TeamConnect one for $160 through one of our vendors. The Expand Capture 5 is $350+ wherever I find it.

Additionally, I have seen some chatter online that Teams may be upgrading the voice profile and attribution feature, and we may be able to eventually use any high quality speaker/microphone.

As for last two options, the whole point is the seamless use of the intelligent attribution within the Teams meetings. Those options remove that feature.

Any additional guidance anyone from Microsoft could offer regarding the voice attribution feature and required hardware would be appreciated!

Currently, Microsoft Teams speaker attribution is only supported on a limited set of certified intelligent speakers. These devices are specially designed to work with Teams' voice recognition and attribution features, which rely on voice profiles and AI processing to identify who is speaking.

Because this feature involves sensitive data and advanced processing, Microsoft has not yet opened support for generic or non-certified devices. This ensures accuracy, privacy, and compliance with enterprise standards.
