A server in our environment looks to have updated to version 8.4 of MySQL, I'm looking to migrate data from this MySQL server to another running on version 8 - however when I run the Online or Offline migration I get the below error preventing me from being able to run the migration, is there any indication of when version 8.4.5 is going to be supported by Azure Database Migration Service?

The version '8.4.5' of the server 'XXX' does not fall in the range of supported versions [5.6, 8.0.999]. Please refer to the list of supported server versions and editions. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=867939

    Hi Matty Burn ,

    Greetings!!

It appears that you’re encountering migration issues due to MySQL version compatibility. The error indicates that your source server is running MySQL version 8.4.5, which is not currently supported by the Azure Database Migration Service (DMS).

At present, DMS supports MySQL versions from 5.6 up to 8.0.x. Since MySQL 8.4 falls outside this range, the migration cannot proceed using DMS until Microsoft adds support for this version.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has not yet announced a specific timeline for when MySQL 8.4 will be supported in DMS. We recommend keeping an eye on the official Azure documentation and release notes for future updates.

For more information, please refer the document:
