Why can't I create and Azure AI Foundry project with my trial subscription?

I followed all the training instructions but the "Create" button is greyed out and cannot be selected.

you’re having trouble creating an Azure AI Foundry project because the “Create” button is greyed out. This can happen for a few reasons:

Subscription Type
- Trial or free subscriptions often have limitations that prevent creating certain resources.
- Make sure your subscription is active and not at its resource limits.
- If you’re on a free/trial plan, consider upgrading to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.
Required Fields
- Double-check that all mandatory fields (like project name, region, resource group) are filled in.
- Even one missing field can disable the “Create” button.
Supported Region
- Ensure you select a region that supports Azure AI Foundry services.
- Some regions do not yet support all AI models or Foundry features.
Permissions
- Verify your role in the subscription. You need Contributor or Owner permissions to create resources.
- If you’re part of an organization, check with your admin for RBAC settings.
Browser or Portal Issues
- Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.
- Sometimes UI glitches can cause the button to stay disabled.

Hi Anshika, thanks for your response. Unfortunately it hasn't resolved the problem. In response to your questions:

I'm based in Switzerland and still have CHF 156.25 of credit remaining.

All fields are filled in (they are autocompleted and I have verified the completions are correct)

The selected region is Sweden Central, which is AI Foundry recommended

My role is Owner and I have been able to create other resources in Azure

I cleared my browser cache but it didn't resolve the issue.

These are the instructions I tried following:

Hello Birte Toussaint,

Sometimes regional capacity can cause this issue. Test with East US 2 or West Europe. Let me know if you have any quota in Sweden Central. if not then submit quota increase request for Sweden Central.

Hi Anshika, apologies for the slow response. The issue is resolved on my side - I didn’t try anything different and didn’t increase my quota, so I’m not sure why it didn’t work initially. Thank you for your help!
