Hi Microsoft Support,

Can you please advise the status of Azure Document Intelligence v3.1 Container support for Custom Models?

According to this page https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/azure/ai-services/document-intelligence/containers/install-run?view=doc-intel-4.0.0&tabs=layout, it says "Custom models are supported by Document Intelligence v3.0 containers.". So it seems there is no v3.1 Container support for Custom Models.

However I can see on this page that "Custom Template 3.1" container image is available: https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/azure/ai-services/document-intelligence/containers/image-tags?view=doc-intel-3.1.0

Please let us know if Custom Models are indeed supported by Azure Document Intelligence v3.1 Container.

Regards,

Eng

    Hello E T,

thanks for reaching out. based on the details shared, this issue seems to be related to version compatibility in document intelligence containers. as per microsoft’s official documentation, custom models are not yet supported in the v3.1 containers. only the read, layout, id document, receipt, and invoice models are available in that version, which could explain why your custom model isn’t working as expected.

if you’re using a custom model (template or neural), please switch to the v3.0 container, which fully supports custom models. also, ensure the correct container image tag and environment variables are configured. if the issue continues, review the container logs for messages like “unsupported operation” or “model not recognized”, these usually confirm a version-related issue.

it would be great if you could share the container version tag, model type, and any error logs, so we can take a closer look. for now, i suggest continuing with the v3.0 container until microsoft adds custom model support to newer versions. future updates will be announced on the azure updates page and in the document intelligence documentation.

    hope this helps!
