Teams leaving frozen window copy of teams on Mac OS

I'm running Mac OS 26.0.1 (25A362) and teams version 25255.703.3981.5698. Recently since updating Mac OS and teams, teams leaves a screen shot of the teams meeting/session in the background which can't be closed. The teams meeting works fine but it leaves an imprint of the meeting in the background on the desktop

Hi @Richard Pepper, Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that Microsoft Teams leaves a frozen image of the meeting window on your desktop after the session ends.

To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:

    • Does the ghost image stay even after you quit Teams?
    • Have you tried restarting your Mac since the issue started?
    • Does this happen only after meetings, or also when you share your screen?
    • Do you have any external monitors connected when the issue occurs?
    • Have you noticed if the image disappears after logging out or switching desktops?

In the meantime, you could try some steps below:

    1. Clear Teams cache
      • If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit or press Command (⌘)-Q.
      • In the Finder, open the /Applications/Utilities folder, and then double-click Terminal.
      • Enter the following commands, and press Return after each command:
             rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
             rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2

      • Restart Teams. For more detail: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
    2. If the issue persists

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

Thank you for your cooperation. I'm looking forward to your reply.
