    Dear Vũ Thị Thảo,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand that you are encountering an issue where you cannot install Roblox and other games on your Windows 8.1 PC due to the error involving the missing file api-ms-win-core-memory-l1-1-3.dll.

This file is part of the Windows operating system core and is often included in Microsoft's Universal C Runtime (CRT) library, which is a component of the Visual C++ Redistributable packages. Since Windows 8.1 is older, newer games like Roblox require updated versions of these libraries that may not be present or correctly updated on your system.

You can try this steps to fix this issue on Windows 8.1:

    1. Install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages

The missing DLL is frequently resolved by installing or repairing the Visual C++ Redistributable files.

    1. Download the latest supported version for Visual Studio 2015-2022 from the official Microsoft website.
    2. You must download and run both the x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) versions, regardless of whether your Windows 8.1 is 32-bit or 64-bit, as games and applications can use either version.
    3. Install the x86 version first, then install the x64 version. If they are already installed, choose the Repair option.
    4. Restart your computer after the installation is complete.

    2. Run System File Checker (SFC)

If installing the redistributable packages doesn't work, a system file scan can check for and repair missing or corrupted core Windows files, including that DLL.

    1. Press the Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. First, run the DISM command (Deployment Image Servicing and Management). This is necessary on Windows 8.1 before running SFC to ensure the repair source is clean.
      • Type: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
      • Press Enter and wait for it to finish.
    3. Next, run the SFC command.
      • Type: sfc /scannow
      • Press Enter and wait for the scan to reach 100%.
    4. Restart your computer once the process is complete.

    3. Update Windows 8.1

Although Windows 8.1 is no longer officially supported, essential updates and security fixes were released. If your system is missing key updates, the DLL may not be there.

    1. Press the Windows Key + X and select Control Panel.
    2. Go to System and Security, then Windows Update.
    3. Click Check for updates.
    4. Download and install any Important or Optional updates available.
    5. Restart your computer after the updates are installed.

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help. Have a wonderful day!

    Best Regards.
