2025-10-15T18:29:04.35+00:00 Thank you for sharing the details of your subscription and the issue you're facing. fin private message
The error "SubscriptionExceededMaxDomainLimit" means your Azure Pay-As-You-Go subscription has reached the maximum number of App Service Domains allowed. Azure subscriptions have a limit on how many App Service Domains can be created, which varies by subscription type. For example, free and sponsored subscriptions often have very low limits, while Pay-As-You-Go has higher but still finite limits.
To address this issue:
- Please check the current count of App Service Domains in your subscription using the Azure Portal under Subscriptions > Usage + quotas. This will confirm if you have hit the domain limit.
- If you have reached the limit, you have the following options:
- Delete any unnecessary existing App Service Domains to free capacity.
- Request a quota increase by creating a support ticket here: Create Azure support ticket. If you are unable to create tickets from your portal, try signing in at the link and selecting your subscription.
- Alternatively, register your domain with an external domain provider (such as Namecheap or GoDaddy) and then associate that domain with your Azure web app. You can still manage your DNS and SSL bindings within Azure for such domains.
- Make sure your subscription has a valid payment method attached and that you have the necessary permissions (Owner role or equivalent) to purchase domains.

2025-10-16T09:03:34.8033333+00:00 Thank you for the update.
Since you confirmed that you haven’t purchased any domains before but are still receiving the SubscriptionExceededMaxDomainLimit error, this typically points to one of the following conditions:
- Your subscription type or status does not currently support App Service Domain purchases. For some newer Pay-As-You-Go accounts, the system may temporarily restrict domain purchases until enough billing history is established, or a valid payment method is verified.
- Payment or subscription setup issues. Please ensure that your billing information is correct and the credit card in your subscription is valid and verified.
- Azure back-end quota misclassification. Occasionally, a misalignment in the Azure resource provider’s quota system may incorrectly flag your subscription as exceeding its domain limit. The resolution in these cases usually requires a quota review or backend correction by Microsoft Support.
Since you mentioned that the portal doesn’t allow you to raise a support ticket, please try the following alternatives:
Use the direct support creation link: Create a new Azure support request. This process should work even if you don’t have a paid support plan for technical issues, as Billing and Subscription Management support is included free of charge.
- If that still fails, you can reach Microsoft’s global customer service to request support ticket creation on your behalf: Microsoft Global Customer Service phone numbers.
Alternatively, as a temporary workaround, you can:
Purchase your domain externally from a registrar like GoDaddy or Namecheap.
- Then follow this guide to map your existing custom domain to your Azure Web App: Reference: https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/azure/app-service/app-service-web-tutorial-custom-domain?tabs=root%2Cazurecli

2025-10-16T18:24:11.58+00:00 I don't think it's a payment issue. or payment history. I've had the subscription for almost 10 years. I will try to create a support case.
Thank you
