Virtual network gateways with legacy domain name and configured with P2S config are not currently supported for Basic IP to Standard IP migration

Attempted to migrate a VpnGw1 sku gateway with basic IP using the migrate to standard IP option, validation showed as successful however preparation failed with the following error:

Failed to prepare for migration to Standard IP Based Deployment.. Error: Virtual network gateways with legacy domain name and configured with P2S config are not currently supported for Basic IP to Standard IP migration.

Confirmed the gateway does have a legacy DNS entry in it's P2S VPN config & found this article https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/basic-public-ip-migrate-howto advising there is a specialised migration path in development for gateways with legacy DNS which was due for release end of September but I'm unable to locate any details on this specialised tool. Has this been released and how can we access it?

    Thank you for reaching out on Microsoft Q&A forum.

    Here we have two suggestions for you regarding to above query:

    1.Please remove legacy DNS entry config in P2S vpn & try to migrate a VpnGw1 sku gateway with basic IP using the migrate to standard IP option, check if that succeed, as currently VPN Gateways with legacy cloudapp.NET DNS configurations cannot be migrated using the current migration tools. These gateways require a specialized migration approach that is currently under development.

    The document you mentioned is absolutely correct.

    2. If not succeeding on migration , then please wait for timeline announcement from Microsoft in coming days , weeks or months to upgraded to Standard SKU public IP addresses for DNS legacy. Continue using your current gateway configuration until the specialized migration tools become available.

    As of now there is no update on timelines at Microsoft verified document.

    Yes ,as per the article, there is no ETA or new announcements yet from Microsoft, we need to keep tap on the new announcement to upgrade gateway legacy DNS.
