    Dear Mats Rydin,

    Thank you for contacting the Q&A Forum. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share the details of your issue with me.

    I sincerely apologize for the delayed response, I’ve been navigating an exceptionally heavy workload and a very hectic schedule recently. I completely understand how frustrating it can be to wait for assistance when you’re dealing with a technical problem, and I deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

    Please know that your concern is important to me, and I remain committed to supporting you as best I can.

    Firstly, I just want to share an information that it’s expected behavior that you cannot “open” a DLL file because DLL files aren’t executable. They need to be placed in the correct system folder. System DLL files are usually stored in one of these two directories:

    • C:\Windows\System32\ (for 32-bit Windows)
    • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (for 64-bit Windows)

    Please copy the DLL file into the appropriate folder and then rerun the program that reported the missing DLL to see if the issue is resolved.

    If you’ve already done this and the error persists, I recommend installing the full set of Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Windows 7, including:

    • Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable
    • Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable
    • Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (latest supported)

    You can check out the official documentation here: Latest supported downloads of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. After you install, you may need to restart your device to complete the configuration successfully. Try these steps and let me know if the problem continues. I’m here to help!
