Hi @MCota,
Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I truly understand how important it is to have accurate spellchecking when collaborating across different languages, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Let me walk you through how Teams currently handles spellcheck and what options are available to support your multilingual workflow:
Microsoft Teams relie on the Windows operating system's language settings to determine which language to use for spellchecking. At this time, Teams supports one spellcheck language at a time, based on your preferred language settings in Windows.
This means if your system is set to English, Teams will check spelling in English only - even if you're typing in Spanish within the same message.
If you frequently switch between English and Spanish, here’s how you can adjust your settings:
1/ Open Windows settings
Go to Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language.
2/ Try to add Spanish as a Language (if not already added)
Click Add a language, search for Spanish, and install it.
3/ Then switch input language while typing
Use the keyboard shortcut Windows key + Spacebar to toggle between English and Spanish input languages. This will also switch the spellcheck language in Teams accordingly.
4/ Optional: try to use Microsoft editor for enhanced spellcheck
If you use Microsoft Edge or Word Online, the Microsoft Editor extension supports multilingual spellchecking.

At this time, simultaneous spellchecking for multiple languages in Teams is not supported. We understand this can be limiting, especially in multilingual conversations. Your feedback is valuable, and I’ve noted it for our product team to consider in future update.
