Hi Ibrahim,
This error is typically caused by disk sector size incompatibility, corrupted service accounts, or leftover files from previous installations.
- In the command prompt, run as Administrator and use this command:
fsutil fsinfo sectorinfo C:
Look forPhysicalBytesPerSectorForAtomicity. If it's greater than 4096, apply this registry fix
*REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\stornvme\Parameters\Device" /v "ForcedPhysicalSectorSizeInBytes" /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d " 4095" /f
**
Then restart your laptop and try installation again.
- Even if you haven’t installed SQL Server before, remnants from failed attempts can cause issues.
Uninstall all SQL Server components via Control Panel > Programs and Features. Delete these folders:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server and then try installing it again This will help you troubleshoot the root cause and help you fix the issue. If you still face any problem let me know. Regards,
Shruti
