How can I compare the Original T-SQL Script with the edited version of the same T-SQL

I thought Redgate and SQL Compare could compare two T-SQL scripts and highlight any changes, deltas for you...But I have no idea how to use that.

I also know that there are some one-off T-SQL comparison software packages out there. Which would the forum suggest is the best?

Hope I can get some help and guidance maybe on both fronts here.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to compare scripts as such, you would use a plain compare tool. Myself, I use Beyond Compare from Scootersoft.

If you want to compare the result of the two scripts, you would take a backup of the database and restore a copy and run one script on one copy, and the other script on the other copy. Then you can use SQL Compare to compare the copies.
