Hi @Someone
Welcome to Q&A Community!
I understand that you'd like to disable the Spellcheck editor in Teams. When you add a language to the Spellcheck, it disappears after you go out and come back to the settings.
To make sure we're aligned and avoid from any misunderstanding, please let me know a few details about your issue by answering these questions:
- Are you signed in with a personal account (e.g., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com), an education account (e.g., @school.edu), or a work account (e.g., @yourcompany.com)?
- Which OS are you using? May I know its version as well?
- Does the issue happen in Teams web, app or both?
If the issue is in Teams web, try clearing browser cache, then switching to another browser such as Chrome/Edge or even Incognito mode to see if anything changes.
If the issue is in Teams app, clearing Teams cache may help. Please read this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn for full instructions.
After checking on my side, when at least one language is added, I can still see the toggle to turn off Spell Check in Teams.
Once I switch it OFF, I’m able to type without the red underlines (as shown in my screenshot below).
I can also add another language to the Editor Spellcheck settings without issues.
This suggests the problem might be account-specific. Please reach out to your IT Admin and ask them to review your account settings.
If the issue persists, note that other users have reported similar behavior. In that case, you might want to try installing an older version of Teams using this tool: Office Customization Tool - Microsoft 365 Apps admin center
My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. I look forward to your updates and feel free to let me know if you have any further concerns. I am happy to assist you.
