You have Microsoft Teams version 25255.703.3978.7153.

I don't see any option to disable spell checking, it is fustrating to write anything when everything is RED!

I have tried adding languages here, they disappear if i go out and come back to settings.

I really don't even want any language here, I REALLY JUST WANT OPTION TO DISABLE IT.

Thank you

    Hi @Someone

    Welcome to Q&A Community!

I understand that you'd like to disable the Spellcheck editor in Teams. When you add a language to the Spellcheck, it disappears after you go out and come back to the settings.

To make sure we're aligned and avoid from any misunderstanding, please let me know a few details about your issue by answering these questions:

    1. Are you signed in with a personal account (e.g., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com), an education account (e.g., @school.edu), or a work account (e.g., @yourcompany.com)?
    2. Which OS are you using? May I know its version as well?
    3. Does the issue happen in Teams web, app or both?

If the issue is in Teams web, try clearing browser cache, then switching to another browser such as Chrome/Edge or even Incognito mode to see if anything changes.

If the issue is in Teams app, clearing Teams cache may help. Please read this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn for full instructions.

After checking on my side, when at least one language is added, I can still see the toggle to turn off Spell Check in Teams. undefined

Once I switch it OFF, I’m able to type without the red underlines (as shown in my screenshot below). undefined

I can also add another language to the Editor Spellcheck settings without issues.  undefined

This suggests the problem might be account-specific. Please reach out to your IT Admin and ask them to review your account settings.

If the issue persists, note that other users have reported similar behavior. In that case, you might want to try installing an older version of Teams using this tool: Office Customization Tool - Microsoft 365 Apps admin center

My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. I look forward to your updates and feel free to let me know if you have any further concerns. I am happy to assist you.

    We have settings:

    User's image

    I can add languages:

User's image But these won't stay there...

User's image I can open those options, but when I leave this part of settings, they disappear.
Like if I click General, to go back one level, and come back they are gone.

Like some of the settings, for example "Language and regional formats": If i select different settings and go away, come back the setting is reset, same as the spellcheck.

But if I select System -> "Register the new Teams as the chat app for Microsoft 365 (requires restarting Microsoft 365 applications)" that stays on.

So it is like some settings stay as I chose but others do not.

Also in Teams we have a company Teams, but mostly I use other tenant for everything, so that might be also issue if the settings are not global for all tenants....

OK, so if I change settings in our company tenant, they stay saved... But our clients tenant it works as I described you can choose some stuff but nothing is saved...

SO THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU CAN'T CHANGE SETTINGS IN OTHER TENANT THAN YOUR MAIN TENANT.

After fixing settings in our company tenant, restarting teams, going to other tenant, settings seem to apply there.

So the bug is that you allow settings to be changed while inside other tenant, because anything you apply there does not have any effect (be saved anywhere)?

It is a bug that settings is available while you are inside other tenant?

    Choose your poison :D

Like our usecase is that we are 99% of our time in other tenants than our own

But I am very happy now as, I can write messages and all text stays white instead of RED
