We are running Windows Server 2025 Standard (licensed) on a Dell server with an NVIDIA L40S (48 GB) GPU installed. Hyper-V role is enabled. GPU-P / DDA But in Windows Admin Center, GPU passthrough / partitioning options are not showing. We have already installed the latest NVIDIA vGPU drivers (573.48) on host and VM. Licensing (CLS) is confirmed as active and valid until Oct 2025. VM (AIServ) is able to see the GPU via PowerShell allocation, but Admin Center does not display GPU feature tab. Request: Please confirm: If Windows Server 2025 Admin Center currently supports GPU-P / DDA visualization. If this is a bug in Admin Center extension, or a missing feature in the latest release. Any required hotfix / role / feature pack to expose GPU management in Admin Center UI. Environment Details: OS: Windows Server 2025 Standard (licensed) VM: Hyper-V, Windows Server 2019 guest (with NVIDIA driver 573.48) GPU: NVIDIA L40S, 48 GB VM Config: vGPU Partition (24 GB VRAM assigned) Feature: Need GPU passthrough visualization in Admin CenterGPU Extension Installed but not visible.pngGPU Feauture Not visible in tools & feautres.png

    Dear Mohd Abrar Ahmed,

Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about your environment. We understand your need to visualize and manage GPU passthrough and partitioning features within Windows Admin Center, and we appreciate your diligence in setting up the infrastructure.

Based on current documentation and community feedback, Windows Admin Center does not yet fully support GPU-P or DDA visualization for Windows Server 2025. While your environment appears correctly configured—licensed Windows Server 2025 Standard, Hyper-V enabled, NVIDIA L40S GPU with vGPU driver version 573.48, and CLS licensing active—the GPU management tab in Admin Center may not reflect GPU-P or DDA status due to the following:

    Key Observations:

    • Admin Center Limitation: The GPU feature tab is not currently exposed in Admin Center for GPU-P or DDA configurations on Windows Server 2025. This is a known limitation and not necessarily a bug in your extension installation.

Driver Maturity: While you’ve installed the latest NVIDIA vGPU drivers, full support for GPU-P in Windows Server 2025 may still be pending final driver certification and Admin Center integration.

PowerShell Confirmation: The fact that your VM (AIServ) detects the GPU via PowerShell confirms that GPU-P is functioning at the Hyper-V level, even if not visible in the Admin Center UI.

    Recommended Actions:

    1. Continue Using PowerShell for GPU Management Use Get-VMHostPartitionableGpu and Add-VMGpuPartitionAdapter to manage GPU-P assignments.
    2. Monitor Microsoft Learn and Admin Center Updates Future releases may include enhanced GPU visualization. You can follow updates here.
    3. Confirm BIOS and SR-IOV Settings Ensure SR-IOV and VT-d/AMD-Vi are enabled in BIOS to support GPU-P.
    4. Engage with NVIDIA Enterprise Support For driver-specific behavior and roadmap, we recommend contacting NVIDIA directly, especially regarding L40S support for GPU-P in Admin Center.

Let me know how it goes, and if this answer helps, feel free to hit “Accept Answer” so others can benefit too 😊

    T&B,

    Domic Vo,

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I appreciate the clarification that the limitation lies within Windows Admin Center’s current lack of full GPU-P/DDA visualization support for Windows Server 2025.

From my side, the environment is already aligned with best practices:

    • Licensed Windows Server 2025 Standard with Hyper-V enabled

NVIDIA L40S GPU with vGPU drivers (573.48) correctly installed

    CLS licensing active and validated

GPU confirmed via PowerShell at the Hyper-V level

However, in addition to the Admin Center UI gap, I must highlight a critical issue: when assigning the GPU to my VM (AIServ), the VM fails to start. This indicates that while the GPU is detected, passthrough or GPU-P assignment is not functioning properly in practice. This behavior makes the setup unusable for production workloads.

To move forward, I will continue using PowerShell for GPU management as suggested. Still, I need clear and guaranteed confirmation on two key points:

Whether GPU-P/DDA visibility and management will be included in upcoming Windows Admin Center releases for Windows Server 2025.

Whether NVIDIA L40S with vGPU drivers (573.48 and later) is fully supported for passthrough/GPU-P in Hyper-V, including stability of VM startup after GPU assignment.

Since our investment in this server infrastructure was made based on these capabilities being supported, it is critical to have a concrete answer from your side on supportability and roadmap.

    Looking forward to your confirmation.

    Best regards,
    Mohd Abrar Ahmed
