Need to Unlock Immutable Vault

Hello Support,

We need to unlock an immutable vault to make some policy changes and delete some snapshots from vm's that are no longer part of our enterprise system.

I realize that this will require support from your team. We have been through this process before. Once we begin I can give you the necessary vault/id's etc.

We do not want to change our retention settings per se, however we cannot adjust the snapshot frequency on our enhanced policy without removing these VM's that have a suspended backup status. (the VM's no longer exist.)

Thank you!

    Hello Britt Tucker,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A platform.

If the State of Immutable vault setting is Enabled then the vault has immutability enabled and doesn't allow operations that could result in loss of backups. However, the setting can be disabled.

If it is Enabled and locked, then the vault has immutability with WORM storage enabled and doesn't allow operations that could result in loss of backups. As the Immutable vault setting is now locked, it can't be disabled. Note that immutability locking is irreversible, so ensure that you take a well-informed decision when opting to lock.

We have reached out to you in Private message for few of the additional details, could you please check and provide us the details.

    Thanks,

    Suchitra.
