Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager Evaluation Lab Kit has expired, CMC console doesn't open. Windows server 2022 says evaluation expired and SQL services don't start since server has expired. Is there an updated Lab I can download?

    Hi,

As per Microsoft the lab environment is intended for evaluation purposes only, it has evaluation OS for X number of days and Windows 11 are valid only for 90 days.

There is chance that they are expired and hence you are not able to use it, please use Dev/Test Tenant Environment for further testing. If you have another account you can try that see if it works.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Muhammad Zia,

When a Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (now part of Microsoft Endpoint Manager) Evaluation Lab Kit expires, it cannot be renewed or extended. These labs are built on time-limited evaluation versions of Windows Server, SQL Server, and Configuration Manager. Once the evaluation period ends, critical services (like SQL) stop, and the Configuration Manager Console (CMC) will not launch. That is the reason you see those responses.

You can follow the steps below to solve the existing problem:

    1. Download a New Lab Kit: The supported solution is to download and provision a new evaluation lab kit from Microsoft’s official source.

The latest available kit is the Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 Deployment Lab Kit, which includes Configuration Manager (current branch), Windows 11, Intune integration scenarios, and more. You can download from here: Windows and Microsoft 365 deployment lab kit - Microsoft 365 Enterprise | Microsoft Learn

    2. Delete Old Lab: Since the evaluation software has expired, the existing VMs cannot be reused. You need to remove the expired VMs and deploy a fresh lab environment using the new kit.

    3. Licensing Considerations: If you plan to use Configuration Manager beyond the temporary lab, you need a proper license (via Volume Licensing, Visual Studio/MSDN subscription, etc.).

For standalone SCCM installations (not lab kits), you can upgrade an evaluation edition to a licensed version by re-running setup and selecting the upgrade option.

Kindly check the above solutions and references provided. Let me know if you require any additional assistance from my end. I am happy to help you with the queries. If the information is helpful, please click on Upvote and Accept Answer on it so that it can help other community members.
