Hi Alicia,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand you're encountering the error message: "The credential is invalid. Unexpected sub status (6008)" when trying to log in to Microsoft Office 365 on your computer.
This error typically indicates a problem with the authentication process—possibly due to expired credentials, incorrect login details, or a misconfigured account.
Could you please confirm:
- Are you using your correct work credentials?
- Have you recently changed your password?
- Are you logging in from a company-managed device?
Here are a few steps you can try:
- Double-check your username and password to ensure they’re correct.
- Clear your browser cache or try logging in via an incognito/private window.
- Try logging in from another device to rule out local configuration issues.
- Delete AAD Broker Plugin Folder
Close all Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Open File Explorer and navigate to the following path:
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Packages\ - Look for a folder named:
Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy- Delete the folder. You may need administrator permissions.
- Restart your computer.
- Try logging in to Office 365 again.
If things still don’t work out, feel free to share an update, I’ll be happy to assist further.
Best regards,
