Developer Sub

Hello,

I've been a paying dev customer for ~25 years, ensuring my employers maintain an active ms professional dev subscription (Removed PII@yahoo.com) for me. Former contiguous past employers CMI, LONE STAR PET and BMA (TPABenefits) have subscribed for the duration of my employment (about 25 years.).

I wrote my first .NET code to connect MYSQL to a ASP.NET app in 2001, I believe. It's kinda cool looking at the entire program in one compact file.

I've contacted stage 4 metastatic colo-rectal cancer. I can no longer work and was laid off about a year back.

Would you (MS) please grant me a pro sub? It's a lot to ask, but I have no income and was a loyal, paying customer for many years, so I thought I'd try. Of course, if i saw a commercial gig, I would see you are paid properly. I feel lost in the wilderness or in jail or something without it. One VS vendor gave me a free lifetime license. I want to mention their name, but they might not appreciate me telling everybody what they did for me.

Sincerely,

Steve Parrish

Thank you for reaching out and for being a long-standing Visual Studio customer. We truly value your many years of contribution and support.

Unfortunately, I am unable to directly grant or extend subscriptions. However, I recommend the following options for you.

    1. Microsoft Support / Visual Studio Licensing

Please reach out directly to Microsoft Visual Studio Customer Support for special subscription or licensing requests:

    https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/subscriptions/support/

    1. Visual Studio Community Edition

If you are not already using it, the Visual Studio Community Edition is available for free for individual developers and non-enterprise use. It includes most of the professional features and may help you continue your work without interruption.

    https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/community/

    1. Nonprofit / Hardship Licensing Programs

In some cases, Microsoft offers special consideration for users in exceptional circumstances. Submitting your request via Microsoft’s support form will ensure it reaches the right team who can review your case.
