camera not working in zoom app
How to Troubleshoot Camera App error code 0xA00F4244?
Hi - I am working on a Dell laptop with Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems. Today the computer stopped recognizing the installed camera. It is also causing some sort of instability with the system such that if I try to open the camera, the computer forces a restart.
Our IT tried several tactics to try to resolve the issue (de-re-installing drivers, confirming Dell and Windows updates, attempted system rebooting). Does anyone have any advice? Not sure if this is a common complication of recent updates or how best to proceed. Please let me know your thoughts!
Thank you,
Megan

See if that helps. If the camera is not showing up in BIOS at all, you need Dell support as it would be a hardware issue.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed us about the issue. Based on your report, I understand that you're facing the 0xA00F4244 error with your camera. To tackle with this issue, please follow:

Dell has a built-in diagnostic tool that can check for any corrupt/failures of the OS system, this will detect whether it is a software or physical hardware problem

2025-09-30T13:24:21.9+00:00 Given that opening the camera forces a restart, the issue is very likely a physical hardware failure or a critical, low-level driver conflict. Run the built-in Dell Diagnostics test (usually accessible by hitting F12 during boot) to confirm if the camera hardware is functional outside of Windows.
