Hi, I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft Edge.

When I open a new tab and toggle the background image on or off, the new tab page eventually breaks. The UI glitches and the layout does not render properly.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a new tab.
  2. Open the page settings (gear icon in the top-right corner).
  3. Toggle the background image on or off.
  4. Switch to another tab or page, then return to the new tab.
  5. The new tab page appears broken.

I use Edge version 140.0.3485.54 and Windows 10 Pro 22H2 build 19045.6282

Any idea how to fix this? I’ve attached a link to screen recording showing the problem.

    Hi,

I tried following the steps in the video you shared, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the same issue. I'm wondering if it is a cache problem. You can try deleting the new tab page cache and see if it helps. Close all the new tab page then navigate to Edge Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies > See all cookies and site data. Search for ntp.msn.com (should be under MSN) then delete it to see if it works.

If it doesn't work, go to Edge Settings > System and performance > System > Toggle off Use graphics acceleration when available. Restart the browser then check again.

Have you tried disabling all your extensions to check if one of them might be causing the issue?
