Please I need help with this my laptop keeps shutting down when I am trying to game. It doesnt get crazy hot or cant even get hot because it shuts down preemptively.

I get Kernel Power 41 Code 0 error in my event viewer.

Things I have done:

  • Reset my windows
  • updated my drivers with driver easy
  • turned off fast boot
  • turned off hard disk sleep timer to 0 both plugged in and on battery.

If this is important to note, I installed a new ram into the laptop to have 32 gb, and also added a 1tb ssd for more space. But for months I have had no issue with it until a day came and it just started happening when I was playing God of War Ragnarok. Now I try with different games and the same result.

Please I really need help on this I dont know what is wrong.

Would appreciate any help to fix this issue thanks.

Masi.

Using a 3rd party utility to install/update your drivers may be the underlying cause of the problems, MSI use very specific drivers on their systems.

Please check to see if your MSI gaming laptop is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so I can take a look for you.

Okay if installing those drivers does not resolve the problem, you may need to take your laptop to a PC Shop to have the hardware tested.

I honestly think that utility has messed up all your drivers, open Device Manager, expand the Display Adapters section, please provide a screenshot of that full window.
