MS Purview Data Products queries - Subscribers and Privacy?

I have few questions related to Data Products in Purview. Will appreciate if anyone can share more information the same:

(1) We want to launch data products in MS Purview Unified Catalog. During testing we observed that the Active Subscriber count goes up by 1 every time someone requests access to that data, irrespective of whether the request has been approved / rejected.

Is anyone aware what is the definition of 'Active Subscriber' field and what is it measuring?

(2) I am a Purview admin. How do I get the list of all subscribers to a Data Product?

(3) In the manage policies section, who will get a review request if I select 'Privacy and Compliance review required'? And where do we set this approver?

    Hi Mishra, Rahul
    let me break these down:

    (1) Active Subscriber definition The Active Subscriber metric in Purview Data Products currently increments when a user submits a subscription request (regardless of whether it’s approved, pending, or rejected). It reflects engagement with the product rather than finalized access. Approved subscribers will still appear under the “Subscribers” tab for that data product.

    (2) Getting the list of subscribers As a Purview admin (or Data Product owner), you can view all subscriber requests - both active and historical - directly in the Data Product → Subscribers tab within the Purview portal. This will list users, their request status (Pending, Approved, Rejected), and dates. At this time, there isn’t a direct export, but you can query the Purview Graph API if you need to integrate subscriber info programmatically.

    (3) Privacy & Compliance review When you enable Privacy and Compliance review required, the subscription workflow routes through approvers designated in your organization’s Purview/Entra ID setup. Typically, this is aligned with your compliance administrators or a designated approval group defined during Purview governance configuration. If no explicit approver group has been configured, the requests may not reach the right team, so it’s worth checking with your Purview/Entra ID administrators to confirm who has been set as approvers.

    I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
