I have a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus. I’m experiencing an issue with Windows Hello on my device. The fingerprint sign-in option, which was working fine previously, has suddenly stopped functioning. It’s no longer available in the sign-in settings, and I haven’t made any recent changes to my system that might explain this. ALSO the face recognition never worked.

    Dear Naaz,

The issue you're encountering—where the fingerprint option has disappeared and face recognition has never worked—may be related to driver compatibility or hardware support, especially on devices with certain camera configurations. Dell has identified that facial recognition may not function properly on systems using MIPI cameras unless running Windows 11 version 22H2 or newer. We recommend checking your current Windows version and updating if needed.

For the fingerprint issue, please ensure your system is fully updated via Settings > Windows Update, and verify that biometric services are running. You can also try re-enabling the fingerprint option by removing and re-adding the fingerprint under Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. If the option remains unavailable, it may help to reinstall the fingerprint driver from Dell’s support site or check BIOS settings to confirm the sensor is enabled.

I hope this helps. Just kindly tick Accept Answer that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,
