I noticed that my Dictation Icon has disappeared from my taskbar, and I would appreciate any guidance on how to find or restore it. I'm not sure what might have caused it to go missing. Thank you for your help!

    Hey there!

Nice to meet you! I'm Randy, an Independent Advisor.

Hi Mary, The Dictation icon isn’t always pinned by default, but you can still access it by pressing Windows key + H to open the Dictation toolbar anytime. If you’d like the icon back, right-click the taskbar, go to Taskbar settings, and under Taskbar corner icons or Taskbar corner overflow, check if "Touch keyboard" or "Speech/Dictation" is listed and toggle it on. If it doesn’t appear, Windows updates may have changed how Dictation works, and the shortcut is now the primary way to launch it.

    Hope this helps,

    Best regards,
