Microsoft 365 Home subscription not working

Excel will not work. When I try to open email attachment I get a message that a subscription is needed

    At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

    Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into Office to check if your subscription is then recognized correctly.

    If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, is the expiry date on your Microsoft 365 subscription listed correctly.
