Hello LCP,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A
You can try the text-flow features in Publisher.
Create New Text Boxes on Each Page.
First, insert as many empty frames as you need one for each chapter or page:
- Go to Home > Draw Text Box.
- Drag out a box on page 2 where you want your chapter 2 text to appear, then repeat for pages 3, 4, etc.
- This should set up blank containers ready to receive threaded or pasted text.
Publisher can automatically overflow text from one frame into the next:
- Click the large text box.
- When you see the small red overflow indicator at its lower right, click it. Your cursor turns into a little pitcher.
- Click the empty frame on page 2 text will pour into it from the large text box.
- Repeat: when page 2 overflows, click its red indicator and then click the frame on page 3.
To isolate chapters as separate stories, unlink at the end of each chapter:
- Click inside the frame where chapter 1 ends.
- On the Text Box Tools > Format tab, click Remove Text Box Link (chain-link icon).
Page 2’s frame now holds its own independent text, and further overflow will not continue from page 1.
I hope this help. Feel free to reply back if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Xavier - Microsoft Q&A Support Specialist.
