Sorting OneNote pages in Android

I noticed a question regarding sorting OneNote pages on Android. The thread was locked so I am adding my input here.

Although you can't directly sort items on an Android device you can rearrange them.

In the list of pages you should press a page entry until the radio buttons appear on the left.

Keep pressing and then drag the item to the desired position.

This is something I've been trying to achieve for ages. As noted in the question, syncing a page sorted on another device doesn't work.

Not exactly a complete solution but I hope this helps someone.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on our forum, let me help you with this.

OneNote on Android doesn't support direct page sorting, and changes made on other devices don't sync properly.

The best workaround is manually rearranging pages within the app.

Here are few steps to resolve this issue.

    • To rearrange pages in OneNote on Android.

At first, open the notebook where your pages are located; then, press and hold the page you want to move until radio buttons appear next to it.

While still holding the page, drag it to the desired position in the list. Finally, release the page to place it in its new spot.

Since direct sorting isn’t available, this manual method is the best way to organize your pages.

    I hope this helps!

As noted in the question, syncing a page sorted on another device doesn't work.

    This is by design.
