My phone number changed and I can't get past security to get to my account.

I understand that you are unable to access your Microsoft account, as you no longer have access to the phone number that was used on the account; and also need to change the number.

Kindly fill out the Microsoft Account Recovery form here.

Kindly note that account recovery is an automated process. Microsoft has set the account recovery process entirely online to ensure the customer's privacy and security.

So, with this design, this cannot be overridden by Support whether phone or through chat. Support cannot bypass your account neither can they reset the password nor recover the account for you

It will always boil down to the customer's ability to have access to the necessary information that our security process requires.

Unfortunately, successfully filling out the account recovery form is the only way to regain access to an account.

Support agents, Managers or anyone else at Microsoft cannot assist with the recovery process as it is automated and depends entirely on the account owner's input.

Its success is entirely up to the account owner. The recovery process has been set up in such a way that your input alone determines whether or not access to the account is granted after submitting the form.
