OneDrive: Check your internet connection, and try again. (Error code 0x8004deed)

Hi,

W11 22621.2428

Don't have an Office 365 subscription, do have an Exchange Web Services hosted email.

After boot, activate systray notification (OneDrive problem icon), attempt login, above error, same on repeat.

Checked connection with Ookla, ~13 MBPS D/l, 1 MBPS U/L, no limits set in sync settings.

No problem logging to https://onedrive.live.com/ and when activating OneDrive pidl through explorer, the account is fine and files are all there, as if nothing happened at all.

Could be an issue either with the network setup, see description at EM client, or with the account, as use the personal account interchangeably with the 365 one on the PC.

Did get a "Network discovery is turned off" after bootup (restart) even though it's all turned on.

Thanks.

    Hi! Laurie Stearn

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. Based on the description that you have posted; it appears that the issue you are experiencing is with the OneDrive application itself where the network connection might be blocked off. This may be caused by a possible network issue in your PC.

Let's work together in finding the best solution to this issue

    • What we can do is uninstall OneDrive application on the PC. Once the application is uninstalled, we can run a few commands in your elevated command prompt admin. These are the commands, please run them one by one:

    net localgroup Administrators localservice /add

    fsutils resource setautoreset true C:\

    netshint ip reset resetlog.txt

    netsh winhttp reset proxy

    netsh winsock reset

    Ipconfig /flushdns

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    • After running these commands, restart the PC. Reinstall OneDrive once the computer has finished restarting. Sign into your account again in OneDrive app and see if it will sync this time around.

I hope these steps can help you with this! If the issue is still happening after this, please let us know.

    Regards,

    #Fresi

Hi @#Fresi, thanks for the interest, all the commands worked after the following mods:

    fsutil resource setautoreset true

C:\ netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

Uninstalled OneDrive, and rebooted/re-installed it. (We all wish of course, OneDrive could remember its previous settings.) OneDrive seems okay, internet response in the browser is at warp speed, no difference to the network slowness issue in the system, unfortunately.

It may be a network issue after all, thus this category is not the best fit.

    Thanks again.
