Does the Excel spreadsheet have Column Titles? If so might be one of those causing the hang up, say if you have special characters included in the name.
MS Access Crashing
I am going absolutely crazy trying to figure this out. Every time that I try to import Excel data into Access, I get the error 'Microsoft Access has stopped working.', it crashes and restarts Access. This happens in existing databases and brand new ones. I have tried all the 'Compact and Repairs' and everything else I can find on Google. I have even completely removed Office and reinstalled it. Still crashes. I HAVE to get this solved. I am working on a major project and will soon be to the point where I have to flush the testing data and import the real stuff. The problem is... I can't import ANYTHING.
It also happens when I try to use various 'wizards'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Jeff

2017-10-03T20:31:08+00:00 Thank you for responding.
I did think about that. To test it, I created a spreadsheet called Book.xlsx. It had two columns, one with a header of CustID and the other header was Territory. This sheet contains one record. The CustID is ABM10 and the Territory is Southeast.
I tried to do the import to a new table in Access and it immediately crashed.
I have tried dozens of things. I have tried it in my existing database and then (in case I corrupted it somehow), I tried it in a brand new database. Same thing.
What is really driving me crazy is that in the beginning of this project, it was working fine. Now it doesn't work at all. The bad part of it is that since I haven't been doing a lot of importing, I can't tell you when it broke.
And every wizard I try to run also crashes it.
It is driving me insane!
Thanks for trying to help, though.

2017-10-03T21:15:11+00:00 Well, now that you have successfully done everything I would have done... Are you using the button on the Ribbon or a button? If a button can you post the line you are using?

2017-10-03T21:28:30+00:00 I am trying to do the import by clicking the 'External Data' tab on the ribbon, then 'New Data Source' >> 'FromFile' >> 'Excel', I browse to the spreadsheet on my desktop and leave the radio button at 'Import the source data into a new table in the current database.'
As soon as I click the 'OK' button, it crashes.
