Does Microsoft have plans to fix the loop component sink hole

There is a plethora of ways to create loop components which won't show up in your loop workspaces or in office.com but will continue to exist without any direct way to delete them. Is there any official plan to fix this?

    Good morning, DataBen.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well.

Based on the description above you would like to know if the various ways to create loop components which won't show up will be fixed.

Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that Microsoft is aware of this issue and is currently working on a fix. However, I do not have any specific information on when this issue will be resolved. I suggest keeping an eye on the Microsoft 365 Insider release notes for any updates on this issue.

Also, as explained in the link below, Microsoft Loop is still in Public Preview. As such, there are still features that need to be improved, and so problems like the one you have that can't be solved right away.

In the meantime, you can try using the following workaround to delete the loop components that are not showing up in your loop workspaces or in office.com:

    1. Open the loop component in question.
    2. Click on the "..." button in the top right corner of the screen.
    3. Select "Delete" from the dropdown menu.
    4. Confirm the deletion.

If that does not work for you, please provide your experience as feedback to our developers directly. They'd love to hear from you about what's working well, what's not, and any ideas for improvements, including possible new features and functions. Your contribution will help us improve the user experience for you and all users around the world.

To send us your feedback, go to the bottom right corner, select Help, > Send feedback.

My understanding was that Microsoft Loop was GA (Generally Available) as of Nov 15 2023, can a product be both a Public beta and GA?

"Microsoft Loopis built for this new way of work and we’re excited to announce today that***it is generally available for customers with Microsoft 365-Business Standard, Business Premium, E3, and E5-on web and mobile."***Source: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/microsoft-loop-built-for-the-new-way-of-work-generally-available/ba-p/3982247

    Hi, J--Z.

Throughout the article you provided Microsoft Loop is still described as a public preview. And my understanding of that statement by Julie Seto is that it's basically available to everyone with those specific versions of Microsoft 365 but what they are getting is a public preview. The phrase "generally available" is not even a status we use for our products.

Also, the main article on Microsoft Loop still describes it as a public preview.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/get-started-with-microsoft-loop-9f4d8d4f-dfc6-4518-9ef6-069408c21f0c

Finally, another section of that article I cited above has this to say:

"To make the Loop app's transition out of Public Preview easier, organizations (Microsoft Entra tenants) in which at least one user used the Loop app Public Preview during 2023 are included in a grace period. During the grace period, all users in the organization will have access to all Loop app features like they did during the Loop app Public Preview: namely creating new workspaces and adding/removing members to workspaces."

"This grace period will end in early 2024, at which point all users will have access to Loop app features based on their Microsoft 365 plan. As described above, all users will still be able to access their existing pages and workspaces, view components from other apps, and more. The only capabilities that may be lost after the grace period are creating new workspaces, adding members to workspaces, and removing members from workspaces."

At this point, Microsoft Loop is still in public preview until you see updates on that main article that say otherwise.

    Regards,

    Glenn
