Hi,

I like loop and my question is: does it have end to end encryption? I checked in some docs and on some internet articles said yes but according to the answer in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/officeinsider/forum/all/encryption-of-loop/9ba6dabf-a793-441d-a94f-841b0299268b?rtAction=1712634556386 which is not likely though, could you clarify that and what kind of data is not encrypted in Loop ?

Thanks in advanced

    Hi, Huy Can

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realize that your question is related to Loop data encryption.

After reading the posts you've shared about loop, Microsoft Agent Prince R's answer explains that loop do provides end-to-end encryption to protect the privacy and security of communications. As he said, Loop uses industry-standard encryption to protect your content and all data is encrypted.

About data is not encrypted are as following:

1.Node's public key and identity information: this information is publicly available and is used for communication and authentication between nodes.

2.Routing information: including routing tables, channel information, etc., which need to be transmitted in clear text to ensure proper routing in the network.

3.HTLC (Hashed Time-Locked Contract) related information: HTLC contains information such as the amount of payment, hash locking conditions, etc. This information needs to be transmitted in clear text to ensure the normal operation of the payment channel.

    Hope that can be helpful!
