Hello,

I have an issue with the MS Loop app from both desktop and web clients.

When I open a MS Loop specific page, the page freeze and after a while it pops up a message that say that the page is not responding and it asks me if I want to close or reload the page. If I reload I have the same issue.

I am unable to work on those pages anymore.

Those pages contains some objects like tables and tasks list. And the task list is also a loop component.

The issue occurs after the update of Loop happened on 14.09.2023

Hope can help to understand the source of the problem, otherwise pls ask for more details.

Thanks

    Hi Claudio Rava Altea

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you need help with this concern. We will work together to achieve your desired resolution.

Please note that Microsoft Loop is still on a beta preview, and we should expect some minor issues that will occur while using it.

This could be caused by a number of factors, including browser compatibility issues or a problem with the app itself. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try accessing the page again but make sure to back up your important settings and data on your browser.
    2. Try accessing the page using a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.
    3. Check if there are any updates available for your browser or the MS Loop app and install them if necessary.
    4. Access Loop via In-Private browser.
    5. Restart your device and try again.

We look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely

    Howdy,

This same issue affects us as well. There seems to be a memory leak when you have too many loop components on a single page. Two solutions I've found:

    1. Use the Loop app on your phone. The phone app does not suffer from the memory leak. (Both the Loop app on desktop and browser are Node.js based and have the same issues.)
    2. Not using the offending Loop page:
      1. Close the Loop webpage (often by creating a new tab before closing the offending page, otherwise it doesn't work.)
      2. Open a new Loop webpage and quickly change to a different Loop page.
      3. The webpage may crash again after you successfully get off the offending Loop page, but closing and reopening Loop seems to fix the issue.

I very much look forward to this bug getting fixed so we can get back to playing with this cool tool.

    Exactly.

The amount of loop components could be a possible cause. Not sure if related to a memory leak, as I have 32GB on my PC, always with free memory.

All the pages affected are where I have more than 3 loop components, or pages where there is 1 component used also in such "heavy pages".

What you suggest as solution is what I'm doing to workaround the problem as well, but the affected pages are still unaccessible, other then for few seconds.

I tried with a different browsers (Chrome & Edge) and clearing the caches/cookies, but it didn't help.
While on mobile I haven't any issue.

    Hi Claudio Rava Altea

    Thank you for the reply.

Only our engineering team can figure this thing out, by providing feedback on Loop you can relay your concerns to them, and you can also help them by pinpointing the issue on Loop online.
