Intune Update Ring not working

I have a Windows 11 22H2 device with the last update installed in May 2023. I have created an update ring to push update to the device, but it didn't take effect.

Is it possible that the long gap since the last update is preventing the device from receiving new updates?

Additionally, I have two other Windows 10 devices running versions 21H1 and 1909. Are these devices still eligible to receive updates via Update Rings?

    Hello @Loh Wai Kit ,
    Thank you for reaching out.
A long Gap might have caused the issue Preventing the device from receiveing the new Update but I reccomend that you look at the Troubleshooting guide to really understand what might have happened. https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/intune/device-protection/troubleshoot-update-rings

From what I know, while Windows 10 devices running versions 21H1 and 1909 meet the version threshold (≥1607) https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/intune/intune-service/protect/windows-10-update-rings#prerequisites, they are no longer supported by Microsoft.
Once a version is out of support, Microsoft no longer provides feature or quality updates for it even if it technically meets the version requirement. As a result, I think Intune Update Rings will not deliver updates to these versions unless they are first upgraded to a supported version.
Make the devices with latest OS version, you can consider configuring the Feature update policy to select a latest OS version to upgrade.

Hi, what kind of infrastructure you have?

If you're in a Hybrid Azure AD + MECM or on-prem AD environment, and GPOs were historically used to manage Windows Updates, this can override Intune policies, especially: GPO: "Configure Automatic Updates" set to Disabled

This will block the device from using Windows Update for Business (WUfB) — which Intune relies on.

    In this case

You could check if impacted machine has such settings using -> run -> rsop.msc and navigate to

Polices-> Administrative templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update section.

If setting is there, then change it at least for testing you could do it using gpedit.msc command and restart computer and assigning Update ring again.
