Cannot transfer files from my Android cell phone to my Windows 7. Phone says it was sent. No file appears in my email. I can send this file to an Apple computer with no problem. Did Microsoft change something last year, since it was working earlier that year? I do not want to upgrade to Windows 10 to fix this?

Your Service Provider or Android Phone Manufacturer should have what you want to know.

You don't have to send them by email.

    Example:

File transfers with USB still arrive with file type heic. This requires a conversion program to get them into a jpg format. Files should be coming in as type jpg.

Read all about that extension at the link:

https://fileinfo.com/extension/heic How to convert a HEIC file

Various applications, including Apple Preview and Apple Photos, can convert HEIC files to other formats.

For example, in Apple Preview, select File → Export... to convert a HEIC file to one of the following formats:

    • .JPG - JPEG Image
    • .PNG - Portable Network Graphic
    • .JP2 - JPEG 2000 Core Image
    • .EXR - OpenEXR Image
    • .TIFF - Tagged Image File Format
    • .PDF - Portable Document Format

Additionally, some cloud storage applications automatically convert HEIC files to JPGs as you upload them. For example, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox automatically convert HEIC files to JPG files.
