gmail wont work with outlook express 6

so, ive been trying to get gmail to work with outlook express 6, but when i try to send a message (im using pop servers), it just asks for authentication forever! ive looked at other questions and one of them said to not use spa, it resolved something but it brought up this... does anyone know what to do or if it is just impossible

ps: please dont ask me to update...

    OE and winXp support ended 2009 and since then no updates of any type

    OE is no longer supported

    Its unlikely that your PC can be upgraded to a supported win version

    Access gmail in your web browser

    You are up a creek with no paddle and no canoe

    You said that Windows XP is ended support in 2009.

    But Windows XP ended support in 2014 .

    Windows 7 was launched in 2009.

    This is a spelling.
