I cannot restore my Windows 7 computer to factory settings. I have tryied everything I could restore watching videos and articles about how to do it. I have moved all the important data to a HDD already, so the laptop is ready to be cleaned up. Any kind of suggestions would be appreciated.
My computer is TOSHIBA dynabook T451/35DW
Hi,
We don't know what you watched or read.
The only legal Windows 7 download available is now from Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 Retail Product Keys, not OEM preinstalled Product Keys (Dell, HP, etc).
As you have a preinstalled OEM License (Toshiba, Dell, HP, etc), contact your Computer Manufacturer to order Recovery Media which they should supply for a small cost, IF they still have them.
Or you can also borrow the exact same Retail Windows 7 Edition DVD and use your Product Key to reinstall.
The COA sticker with the Product Key is either on the underside of the Laptop or in the Battery Compartment.
With a Desktop it is either on the side, rear or top of the Computer Case.

And if the Computer/Laptop is still up and running you can check under Programs > the Manufacturer's Software > Create Recovery Disk/Media or similar words

If Windows 7 came preinstalled there should also be a Recovery partition to reinstall Windows from.
Here are the Key/s to press at Boot to start the Recovery Process back to Factory Settings (new condition).
Toshiba – Press 0 (zero)
Cheers.
