unable to migrate ip standard for Gateway Basic

Unfortunately! Migration approach for Basic VPN Gateway SKU is not yet available.

Microsoft will publish the migration process by July 30, 2025. Until then, no action is required for gateways using the Basic SKU.

You cannot yet migrate a Basic VPN Gateway with a Basic SKU public IP to a Standard SKU public IP.

The current migration tool only supports VpnGw1–5 (active-passive) gateways.

If you have VPNGw1-5 you can follow Below steps guide to help you through that process:

1. You can start the migration using the Azure portal or PowerShell.
2. If you're using the Microsoft-provided migration process, follow the wizard that will guide you through creating a new Standard IP address and associated resources.
3. After the Prepare step completes, the option to Migrate your resources is available.
4. Click the Migrate button to migrate your public IP address SKU and your gateway SKU. You'll have 5 minutes of downtime and can't make any changes to your VPN gateway during this time.

Please review the following details before proceeding with the migration:

1. Ensure that your VPN Gateway is eligible for the migration. The subnet should be at least /27 (not /28 or smaller), and you must have at least three available IP addresses in your current prefix.
2. Plan for up to 10 minutes of downtime during this migration process, so it's good to do this during a low-traffic period for your network.
3. Once completed, your old gateway will be decommissioned, and the new one will take over. Make sure to validate the connectivity to ensure everything is functioning well.

Note: Basic SKU public IP addresses will be retired by September 30, 2025, so it's crucial to complete your migration before then.

I have a Public IP which is basic sku. VPN is Standard SKU.

When i try to use the migration tool, i receive this error:
"Failed to prepare for migration to standard IP based deployment. Error: Migration type UpgradeDeploymentToStandardIP not allowed for the gateway"

?

@Marius Please click Ask a new question in upper right corner and ask your question. Standard SKU VPN Gateways will be migrated to newer SKU automatically. No action needed.
