Managed apps do not use vpn

The VPN is connected, and if I browse to an internal website it works when I use Safari. But if I use Chrome, which was downloaded and installed from the company portal, and I try to browse to the internal website I get the error "servers IP address could not be found." This error is presented if there is no VPN assigned to the app and if there is a vpn assigned to the app.

Are you using any per-app VPN configuration or split tunneling setup for Chrome or Safari?Is Chrome managed via Intune or another MDM, and does it have any specific VPN or proxy settings applied?
