Can not remote into PC with Windows 11 Pro from Mac Sequoia 15.3 with Windows App

PC has remote desktop enabled, and NLA disabled.

When I attempt to connect, I am requested by Windows App to provide the user name and password for the PC, and it seems to connect, but rather than giving me the PC desktop, I get the following (see image immediately below).

When I enter the user name and password, I get the second screenshot below.

Can you please help me solve this issue?

Thank you

    Hello,

According to your description, if you cannot connect successfully and the account password is incorrect, you can try the following solutions:

    1. Make sure that the username and password entered are exactly correct. Do you use the IP or FQDN of the target when making a remote connection?
    2. Based on past experience, you may have used a VPN, proxy, or other network middleware in double-ended communication that caused the SSL handshake to fail. Check whether there is third-party agent software in the environment, disable it, and then try to see if the remote connection is possible.
    3. Make sure the remote desktop is turned on correctly. Go to Settings > System > Remote Desktop, confirm that Enable Remote Desktop is turned on, and that the user account that needs remote access has been added to the list of remote desktop users. Confirm that the remote desktop is using the default port 3389, and you can check if the port is open by typing netstat -nao in the command prompt.
    4. Make sure both devices are in the same LAN. Check the firewall settings of your Windows 11 Pro to make sure that the firewall is not blocking remote desktop connections. You can create an inbound rule of the TCP type and port 3389 in the advanced settings of the firewall.
    5. Make sure that local network access is allowed in your Mac's privacy and security settings. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and confirm that access is enabled for the app.

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Jingjing Wu

I believe that item 3 in your list is the issue. I cannot add the user account that needs to remote into the computer to the list of remote access users. On the screen where remote access users are added, whenever I attempt to add the remote user I get a message that the remote user does not exist.

Here is a screenshot showing where I attempt to add remote access users on the computer I want to remote into. I have obscured the Locations field, but it is populated with the name of the computer I want to access remotely. I can't seem to change the Locations field to anything else. I don't know if this is important or not, but as I'm new to this, sharing anything that might be useful.

    I appreciate your help.
